Ian is the Godfather of the club with over 30 years association.
In 2014 Ian was recognised with the British Canoeing volunteer coach of the year award, a fantastic achievement that shows his commitment to the sport and young people. The citation on the award says it all. “Motivational, wise, fun, firm and above all awesome!”.
Ian has been coaching and inspiring a wide range of people into the sport over the last 30 years. Having coached athletes who have gone on to represent their country, to others that have gone on to become coaches themselves, his quiet unassuming manner inspires the loyalty and respect of young people, coaches and parents alike.’’
